Emily Blunt teams up with Ryan Gosling to star in film adaptation of ‘The Fall Guy’

You can’t help falling for this casting.

Emily Blunt has joined the cast of David Leitch’s “The Fall Guy” — a big-screen adaptation of the 1980s TV series of the same name, alongside Ryan Gosling, Deadline reports.

The show — which aired from 1981 to 1986 — centered on a film stuntman (played by Lee Majors) who spent his time off the clock as a bounty hunter.

Details of the cinematic incarnation’s plot have not yet been released, though the film will be executive-produced by Glen A. Larson, who created the show, and produced by Gosling, 41.

Though 39-year-old Blunt’s acting resume has been all over the genre map in recent years, she has a well-established history in action or action-adjacent films like “Edge of Tomorrow,” “Sicario,” husband John Krasinski’s “A Quiet Place” films and the recently released “Jungle Cruise.”

Gosling — who recently finished filming Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie” — meanwhile has almost exclusively done action roles of late. Most recently, he starred in the Netflix blockbuster, “The Gray Man,” alongside Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, which arrived in theaters and on the streamer last month.

Prior to that, he reunited with “La La Land” director Damien Chazelle for 2018′s “First Man,” starred in “Blade Runner 2049″ the year prior and in the “La La Land” year of 2016, starred alongside Russell Crowe in “The Nice Guys.”
