Emily Andrea has opened up about life as a stepmother to husband Peter Andre’s two children.
The couple have been married for six years, and together they have two children, four-year-old Theo and seven-year-old Amelia, as well as help raise Peter’s children with ex Katie Price, Junior, 16, and Princess, 14.
Meeting them when she was still a medical student, now-doctor Emily, 32, has been a long-standing person in the teen’s lives, and as they grow older, it seems they’re only getting closer.
In fact, in a new chat about life as a step-mother, Emily believes that it means she’s privy to information that neither Katie nor Peter know, as they feel they can open up to her in a different way.
Speaking to OK! , she said: “I think with both of them, there’s always things you feel awkward to speak to your parents about. It could be anything. We have a slightly different relationship, maybe that’s why they will ask me questions about certain things.
“Also, with the job I do, I’ve always said to them that nothing is embarrassing to me. I think that’s always meant that they haven’t felt embarrassed to say stuff to me if they have to.
“They’re both really communicative teenagers.”
Ultimately, it seems that Princess and Junior are more than happy with the way things are going with their stepmum - to the point that their homeless seems almost perfect.
“We never have family arguments. I’ve never had an argument with Junior and Princess. Pete and I rarely argue,” Emily added.
“I don’t think Junior’s ever been in a mood with me and I’ve been his stepmum for nearly 10 years!”
The star’s comments come after her and husband Peter have ruled out another child together at the moment as “there aren’t enough hours in the day” to balance the four they currently have.
While Peter said simply ‘hell no’, Emily explained: ”I love babies, don’t get me wrong. But I was watching Millie talking yesterday with Theo and I thought ‘If I have a baby, it will be so hard to do this.’
"And I think actually the other kids would end up missing out a bit.
“So, for me, it’s just lovely how it is now. I love giving them all my focus and attention. I just don’t think the dynamic is right for a baby at the moment.”
