Emily Andre praises Stacey Solomon as she admits to breastfeeding struggles

NHS doctor Emily Andre has praised Stacey Solomon for admitting she's struggling to breastfeed and has sought help with feeding new baby daughter Rose.

Emily, who share son Theo and daughter Ameila with Peter Andre, and is step-mum to his older two children, said she also found breastfeeding difficult and 'there's no shame in admitting you need help'.

Penning her OK! magazine column, Emily wrote: "Stacey is doing the right thing by not putting too much pressure on herself, because the more stressed you are the harder it will be."

She said her own experience of breastfeeding was that she wished she had 'reached out' sooner and would have loved to meet other mums in the same position.

She added: "It’s about staying positive and if you do end up not managing to carry on then that’s absolutely fine – you shouldn’t feel disappointed in yourself in any way. It’s a choice at the end of the day and not everyone finds breastfeeding easy."

Back in 2019, Stacey documented her struggle with breastfeeding and how she felt a "failure " when she wasn't able to feed Rex as a newborn.

She said at the time: "Breastfeeding never happened for me the way that I imagined. I did my best to try and master it, but it wasn't to be."

Now with new baby Rose, Stacey had hoped to have a more positive experience and took to Instagram to update fans on her progress.

She told followers: "I’m struggling again with feeding this time around so spending all of my energy trying to feed, eat and rest.

"Also seeing local breastfeeding specialists and the community midwives who have been incredible so hoping for a more positive journey, in the end, this time but not putting pressure on myself."

Meanwhile the Loose Women panelist, who is currently on maternity leave, is clearly besotted with her baby daughter and has flooded her Instafeed with adorable pictures of baby Rose.

One of her posts at the weekend showed youngest son Rex and new baby Rose sharing a moment as he affectionately places his hand on her head.

Stacey captioned the post: "Rex & Rose. These two have just melted my heart today. Rex you’re even more incredible at being a big brother than I could ever have imagined. You, Zachary & Leighton make my heart fuller and fuller every day. Rose is so so lucky to have you all. To the moon and back pickles."
