Emily Andre admits she didn't leave the house for days after giving birth

Emily Andre has opened up about the struggles she endured after starting her family with pop legend Peter Andre - saying she couldn’t leave her home for days after becoming a mother.

The 29-year-old doctor has been married to 46-year-old Peter since 2015 and together they have two children; five-year-old daughter Amelia and two-year-old son Theo.

Now Emily has explained that the aftermath of childbirth left her unable to leave home - and says other young mothers should make sure they keep communications open after becoming a parent.

“I’ve never suffered from postnatal depression, but I did struggle with certain things when I first became a mum,” the qualified doctor told OK! magazine.

“Luckily as time has gone on I’ve become a lot more confident and able to tackle parenting challenges,” she continued.

“I have spoken to friends about this and they were saying how you could go two or three days without speaking to another adult and I was thinking about how I’ve experienced this too, and it was nice to feel that I wasn’t the only one!” she said.

“You may feel it’s embarrassing to say you’ve been stuck at home for a week or you haven’t had anyone to talk to all day or you haven’t showered in a few days, but it’s better to be honest and open up if you’re struggling,” she added.

Emily's candid revelation comes just as speculation mounts that she might not have husband Pete around to support her as much - as rumours are rife he might flee the UK for a new life in America.

"Just signed a deal with the fantastic John Ferriter and the Alternative group for America/South America and Canada," Pete tweeted on Monday - sparking the speculaiton.

"My wonderful manager of 25 years Claire will continue to manage me for the rest of the world. Thanks to everyone for their support always. Let’s do this:) It's time," he continued - with some fans noting he made no mention of wife Emily.
