Emilio Izaguirre makes Celtic transfer plea as urges them to sign Kervin Arriaga

Emilio Izaguirre has urged Celtic to make a move for Honduran international midfielder Kervin Arriaga.

The 23-year-old has impressed Izaguirre in his homeland and the former Celtic left back is desperate for him to make a move to Europe in the near future.

And that's why he got on the phone to Celtic and urged them to take a look at Ariaga, and they vowed to do so at the Olympics in Japan this summer.

But Arriaga ended up not being selected for Honduras and that was disappointing for Izaguirre, but he still believes the midfielder has what it takes to go to the top.

He reckons Ange Postecoglou should make a move for him because it would give him more midfield options and he has what it takes to play in the Champions League.

The left back is a cult hero at Celtic Park after his service to the club and he has regularly tried to sell Hondurans to the club, with Alberth Ellis also one he's attempted to get to Glasgow.

But he told Diez: "He is tall, wins well above, has a punch and can play three or four positions: central, containment, mixed and midfielder. He is a complete player.

"I really like how he plays, he can be an elite in Europe and play in the Champions League.

"I advised him and motivate him to explore all the great options that he has.

"I want Arriaga to go abroad because for me it is a pride that another Honduran goes out and triumphs.

"I spoke to Celtic about a move for him right now, I talked to the club and they told me they were going to see him at the Olympics, but that didn't happen."
