Emiliano Buendia to Arsenal transfer: Norwich man 'wants' move as Gunners told how much to bid

With the end of the Premier League season approaching, attention is turning to next campaign.

Arsenal will look to improve their squad in the transfer window as Mikel Arteta aims for an improved league finish in 2021/22.

One player the Gunners continue to be linked with is Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia, who enjoyed a spectacular season as the Canaries sealed an instant return to the top-flight.

Buendia scored 15 goals and provided 15 assists in the second tier this term and was named Championship Player of the Season.

And the latest news suggests that Buendia "wants" to go to Arsenal.

Below we have rounded up the latest rumours relating to the future of the 24-year-old amid interest from Arsenal...

Arsenal 'step up' Buendia interest

Arsenal are 'stepping up' their interest in Buendia, according to a report from Goal.

With no clear indication as to what the future holds for Martin Odegaard, Buendia has moved to the top of the club's list for a new playmaker.

Odegaard is set to return to parent club Real Madrid after the final game of the season on Sunday, with no agreement in place for a return to the Emirates at this stage.

It's understood that opting for Buendia would cost Arsenal a fee in the region of £40million.

Buendia 'wants' Arsenal move

A European football journalist believes Buendia has made his mind up about a possible north London switch.

Ekrem Konur has claimed that negotiations have picked up from when discussions were last held between the two clubs in January.

"Emiliano Buendia wants to go to Arsenal," tweeted Konur.

"Arsenal wanted Emiliano Buendía during the last transfer period, but his transfer was not completed. Negotiations are now continuing where they left off."

Many of the latest reports suggest Arsenal's interest in the player continues to grow, and it's now believed Mikel Arteta's side are ready to take the next step in their pursuit of the 24-year-old.

CBS Sports have claimed that the Gunners are poised to make a bid for the Argentinian midfielder, having failed to get their man in the January transfer window.

Now back in the top-flight, the Canaries are under less pressure to sell their star players.

Buendia, Todd Cantwell and Max Aarons are three first-team players who have all been linked with leaving Carrow Road, but the club's director of football Stuart Webber has insisted that they will only be sold if the price is right.

"If anyone wants any of those guys they are going to have to break our club transfer record (£25million) to even get me to answer the phone, to be honest. All three are aware of that," said Webber.
