Emile Smith Rowe's potential upgraded on FIFA 21 following Arsenal's derby win over Tottenham

Following some impressive performances in recent weeks, including a fine individual display against Tottenham in the North London derby on Sunday, Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has been given a potential upgrade on FIFA 21.

The 20-year-old midfielder was one of the Arsenal's best players in their 2-1 win against their fiercest rivals this weekend, a game in which goals from Martin Odegaard and Alexandre Lacazette secured the bragging rights and an important three points.

So far this season, the English playmaker has made 13 appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners, registering four assists, whilst also scoring once and registering two assists in six Europa League appearances.

As a reward for his impressive performances for Mikel Arteta's side this season, EA Sports have upgraded Smith Rowe's potential on FIFA 21.

After the latest update, only Martin Odegaard (89), Bukayo Saka (88), Kieran Tierney (86) and Gabriel Martinelli (86) have higher potential ratings than Smith Rowe in the Arsenal squad, putting him among the club's most exciting young players.

In the latest FIFA 21 database update, which is now live on PC, Xbox, PlayStation and all other platforms as of March 12 2021, Smith Rowe's in-game potential has been increased from 84 to 85.

To put this into context, this means that Smith Rowe can now become better than Thomas Partey (84), Martin Odegaard (83) and Alexandre Lacazette (82), to be one of the highest rated players at the club.

Furthermore, Smith Rowe can now become as good as players like Dries Mertens, Thiago, Luis Alberto, Lorenzo Insigne, Hakim Ziyech, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane, Marcus Rashford and many others on FIFA 21, so he's definitely a youngster to watch out for both on the game and in real-life.

But the one thing that the midfielder hasn't got on FIFA 21 is a scanned game face, so he doesn't look particularly realistic on the game, but this should be fixed in time for the next FIFA gaming title.

What do you make of EA Sports' upgrade of Arsenal midfielder Smith Rowe on FIFA 21?

*FIFA 21 is out now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The next generation version of FIFA 21 is also available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PlayStation 5.

Fans who jump into FIFA 21 can also benefit from Dual Entitlement, enabling them to upgrade their copy of the game from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no extra cost.
