Emile Smith Rowe pivotal for Huddersfield Town as Henrikh Mkhitaryan continues to impress Roma

It has turned out to be a pretty successful restart for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, after a stuttering opening couple of fixtures.

After defeat against Brighton in the second game back, the Gunners have won four of their last five games in all competitions. The other result being a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.

Arsenal will now prepare for the North London derby against Tottenham this weekend, although they will have to be without youngster Eddie Nketiah for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after he was shown red a matter of minutes after entering the field against the Foxes.

Nketiah spent the first half of the 2019/20 campaign on loan at Leeds United, with Arsenal looking to get the young striker some first-team experience.

Arsenal 1-1 Leicester: Mikel Arteta press conference

While the coronavirus pandemic may have stopped some leagues, as with the Premier League others are now back up and running, meaning that players on temporary deals away from the Emirates Stadium are back in action.

Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2’s earlier start means that their campaign is completed, but how have the other players got on in recent days? Take a look at the loan roundup.

Mohamed Elneny

The Egyptian was back in action at the weekend when he played the full 90 minutes of Besiktas’ Super Lig game against Kayserispor.

Unfortunately, his team were on the wrong side of a 3-1 defeat which leaves them in sixth place in the table. Elneny and his teammates will, however, have the chance to put things right when they take on Kasimpasa on Thursday evening.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Mkhitaryan was also a starter for loan club Roma as they travelled to take on Napoli in Serie A.

Again, the midfielder’s team were on the end of a defeat, but Mkhitaryan did get himself on the scoresheet in the 2-1 loss. It is the Arsenal man’s seventh league goal this season.

Roma are currently in sixth position in Serie A and face Brescia away in their next game.

Emile Smith Rowe

The 19-year-old has earned impressive reviews during his time at Championship club Huddersfield Town since signing on loan in January.

The winger was a second-half substitute in the 0-0 draw with Preston, before playing 72 minutes of the draw against Reading - a game that ended with the same scoreline.

However, despite the score, the youngster impressed again in the number 10 role, with manager Danny Cowley telling YorkshireLive : "When he turns from spaces and drives it's just breathtaking, isn't it."

The two results leave Huddersfield in 18th position in the Championship table, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Smith Rowe and the Terriers are next in action on Friday when they host Luton Town.
