Emile Smith Rowe is a transfer target for Aston Villa, according to reports on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Telegraph, Villa "hold an interest" in Smith Rowe, with a new contract at the Gunners yet to be sealed.
The 20-year-old has just over two years remaining on his current deal with the north London club, but following some fine form after emerging into Mikel Arteta 's first team in the second half of the 2020/21 campaign, he looks to have attracted some admirers.
Himself and fellow Hale End graduate Bukayo Saka were really the bright sparks in what was a immensely disappointing season for Arsenal.
Now, with Aston Villa reportedly keen, Smith Rowe might have to consider his future at the Emirates Stadium, but if his previous comments are anything to go by, then the decision will not be difficult.
"I can't really describe the feeling, to be honest," Smith Rowe said on Arsenal's official YouTube channel back in February.
"Being an Arsenal fan from such a young age, getting an opportunity to help put on the Arsenal shirt and step out on that pitch, there's really no better feeling for me."
Villa are reportedly keen on a creative midfielder, with Dean Smith eyeing both Smith Rowe and Arsenal target Emiliano Buendia.
The Gunners are looking to secure a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard this summer, football.london understands, but if they are unable to sign the Norway midfielder, then they will turn their attention to Buendia.
Arsenal are planning on a massive squad overhaul in the coming months, with a number of players set to arrive at the Emirates, as well as leave following an underwhelming campaign.
