Emile Smith Rowe, Granit Xhaka, Bernd Leno - Latest Arsenal injury news ahead of Everton clash

Arsenal could be without up to four senior players for their trip to Everton on Monday night in the Premier League.

The Gunners are expecting some late fitness tests and assessments to make sure a few players are available for selection amid knocks in a busy time of the season.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping he has as many players as possible at his disposal for the game, with his side looking to bounce back from a 3-2 loss at the hands of Manchester United last time out.

A win for the Gunners could see them move back up to fifth and just one point behind West Ham in fourth.

Everton themselves have struggled with injuries this season, equating to their poor form and current 16th place in the Premier League.

Rumoured Arsenal transfer target Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been a big miss for the club with his ability in front of goal and his aerial threat.

With that all said, football.london takes a look at the players who could miss the clash.

Emile Smith Rowe

Smith Rowe has developed into a reliable first-team option for Arteta this season, with his form for the club even earning a first England senior call-up and debut in the last international break.

In the trip to Old Trafford though, he suffered a slight issue with his groin and will be assessed ahead of the trip to Merseyside.

What Arteta has said: “He [Emile Smith Rowe] had some discomfort during the game [against Manchester United] and we decided to take him off. He's been evolving well over the last few days, so we have to wait until tomorrow to see how he is.”

Granit Xhaka

Xhaka has made a somewhat quicker return than expected from a right knee injury picked up in the north London derby back in September.

The midfielder is back in full training, but will be assessed ahead of the Everton game as to whether he can be involved.

What Arteta has said: “This week he [Granit Xhaka] has progressed again to a different level, and tomorrow we will assess how he is, have a conversation with him and decide when is the best moment to start to give him some exposure in games."

Bernd Leno

The goalkeeper missed out on the clash against Manchester United and will have to be assessed again ahead of the Everton game. He picked up a slight groin issue in training that has kept him out so far.

Sead Kolasinac

The left-back is out with an injury to his left ankle that he picked up in international duty for Bosnia and Herzegovina in November. He is back out and running in training, but won’t be back in full training until January onwards.
