Emile Smith Rowe is among those at Arsenal to benefit from Unai Emery’s hands-on approach in training.

Smith Rowe, 18, was rewarded with a new long-term in the summer and has instantly gone about repaying his manager’s faith, scoring three times in his six starting appearances this season.

The Croydon teenager has played through the middle and on the left for the first-team and has been working specifically on improving in the no 10 role – a position many Arsenal envisage Rowe Smith making his own someday.

"The manager has done one-to-one stuff with me a few times after training, working on one-v-one attacking and just being patient,” Smith Rowe told Sky Sports.

“The assistant manager [Juan Carlos Carcedo] has been helping me a lot too with turning on the ball when I play in the No 10 position.

"It's good to get that help on the pitch, so I can actually practise it, instead of in the classroom. But even in the classroom they have both had one-on-ones with me which I've found really useful."

Smith Rowe is set to miss Arsenal’s Europa League dead rubber due to a minor hip injury.
