Emile Smith Rowe compared to Arsenal Invincible after Leeds United victory

Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams has likened Emile Smith Rowe to Gunners icon Robert Pires following his latest dazzling display against Leeds United.

The 20-year-old secured his fourth Premier League assist in 10 appearances during the 4-2 victory over Marcelo Bielsa's side on Sunday.

Smith Rowe has established himself as a core member of the Arsenal squad this season, with Mikel Arteta naming him in the starting line-up for the past 10 matches.

Following a loan stint with Huddersfield Town last season, the Hale End graduate has come of his own and has earned many plaudits.

Among those left impressed by Smith Rowe was Arsenal legend Adams, who compared the youngster to his former teammate Pires.

The Frenchman was an iconic figure in the mid-2000's for Arsenal and Adams believes Smith Rowe has similar qualities.

"Smith Rowe has picked Aubameyang out for that goal. The kid’s got talent, he’s got feet like Robert Pires. Pires could run faster with the ball than I could without the ball. Smith Rowe has got real talent," he told Premier League productions.

"He plays everything with one touch. He’s intelligent and seems to know where the ball is going before he even receives it.

"Smith Rowe and Saka were instrumental in all the goals today. They were both exceptional. Well done to the captain, he got himself a hat-trick but it actually came down to the kids today with Saka and Emile."
