Edu told the Arsenal player that can save him £100m Jack Grealish transfer

Arsenal supporters have regularly urged their club to make a huge swoop to sign Jack Grealish in the summer but an alternative option has been touted.

Former Huddersfield Town boss Daniel Cowley has compared the England international to Gunners' starlet Emile Smith Rowe, who has excelled in the first-team this season.

The 20-year-old spent time on loan with the Terriers in the Championship last season, where he was managed by Cowley, earning his senior stripes with two goals and two assists in 19 league appearances.

Smith Rowe has been backed to establish himself among the best players in world football in the coming years, with the youngster told one area he needs to improve upon.

“He has got that little bit of Jack Grealish about him. He’s got the ability to square defenders up and go past them like they’re not there," he told TalkSPORT.

"He’s so hard not to get excited about, he has potential to be world-class. I look at the top 8-10 players in the world and what he needs to add to his game are goals to the assists he’s regularly making now.

"I think that’s about his timing and arriving in the box, his anticipation in the box is something he needs to work on.”

Grealish's name is regularly being mentioned by Arsenal supporters as a dream target and former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp recently advised the Gunners to make a £100m swoop.

"I think they have to spend. They are way off it, at the moment. They need to bring a bit of quality. Arsenal is a massive football club – take a Grealish. He needs to play at the bigger club."

With finances tight though, Cowley clearly believes that Smith Rowe can save Arsenal millions in the transfer market.
