Former Liverpool and Leicester City man Emile Heskey has explained how the Reds can stop star striker Jamie Vardy tomorrow afternoon at Anfield.
Vardy and Leicester are both in a rich vein of form after four wins from the opening seven league matches of the season, something which has the Foxes third in the Premier League table.
The former England striker has scored five goals in his side's first seven league matches.
And Heskey firmly believes he is the main man to stop for Liverpool this weekend alongside attacking midfielder James Maddison.
In fact, Heskey feels that the perfect way to thwart Vardy is to stop Maddison's ability to find the killer pass going forward, with the former feeding off through balls from the 22-year-old in particular.
"Obviously (James) Maddison is one of the main ones and you look at Jamie Vardy, you look at his record against the top six and it's phenomenal. It's better than anyone in the league," Heskey, who was speaking on behalf of GentingBet, told the Echo.
He added: "You have to stop Jamie Vardy from the source and I think a lot of it comes from Maddison.
"Vardy can work off of scraps though which is good for him. He has adapted really well to the way that Brendan Rodgers is playing.
"He has been outstanding. It's working well for him and the team."
Heskey, who is backing Liverpool to win the title over Manchester City this term, believes that the Reds will prevail at Anfield despite the threat of the Foxes.
"I believe Liverpool will win but Leicester are such a dangerous side. It will not be an easy game for them at all," Heskey said.
