Emil Krafth speaks about the impact of COVID as Newcastle player confirms his struggle with virus

Emil Krafth has revealed Covid-19 left him bed bound last month.

The Sweden international has recovered from the virus but missed the game against Crystal Palace.

The United defender returned against West Brom last weekend.

But revealed in the club programme: “It was a hard two weeks. I had some symptoms.

“I wasn't feeling too bad, but I couldn't train for at least 10 days, only the last few days I was at home.

"It was quite hard. I was quite happy that I could manage it and could play the game, and, of course, that we got the three points.”

"It started at night – I woke up and had a bad headache.

“Then I got more symptoms and more symptoms.

“The first two days after I tested positive I was really tired – I just wanted to sleep all day.”
