'Emery would be crucified' - Arsenal fans react to Freddie Ljungberg's team selection vs Norwich

Freddie Ljungberg has named his first starting XI as Arsenal manager, leaving Nicolas Pepe on the bench for the Gunners' trip to Norwich City.

The Swede sticks with a back four of Calum Chambers, Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Sead Kolasinac. Kieran Tierney has travelled and is on the bench.

Arsenal appear to be playing a midfield diamond with Matteo Guendouzi and Joe Willock flanking Granit Xhaka at the base and Mesut Ozil playing as the No.10.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remains as captain and partners Alexandre Lacazette at the top of the pitch.

As well as leaving Pepe out of the starting team, Ljungberg has chosen to give Granit Xhaka his first start in the Premier League for over a month.

The Swiss international made his Gunners return in the Europa League on Thursday and didn't play terribly despite the loss. His last Premier League appearance came against Crystal Palace where he infamously goaded the Arsenal fans.

Shkodran Mustafi is also making his first Premier League start of the season after an encouraging string of performances in the cup competitions this season.

The German wasn't favoured by Unai Emery and admitted leaving the Gunners was a possibility in the summer. He has been more consistent in his performances during the season, however, and a step back into Premier League action has been accepted by fans.
