Arsenal fans provided a mixed response on the news that Mesut Ozil would be replacing Alexandre Lacazette in the starting line up against Watford.
The German star missed the opening games of the season following a security incident involving Sead Kolasinac, and since then he has also struggled with illness, which has meant no game time for the World Cup winner.
However, following Alexandre Lacazette's ankle injury that will keep him out of action until October, Ozil was picked by Unai Emery to start, with the likes of Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson left on the bench.
Ozil has divided opinion for some time, with his undoubted class not being on show often enough for some sections of the Arsenal faithful.
However, some fans are excited to see what he can do alongside new signing Nicolas Pepe, who lines up alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in attack.
For others, this game is a real make-or-break moment for the 30-year-old, who remains the highest paid player on Arsenal's books, despite what is perceived to be underperformance in some of the club's biggest games.
This will be Ozil's first competitive game for the club since the Europa League final defeat to Chelsea, and it's fair to say that all eyes are on him, if social media is anything to go by.
