Barcelona defender Emerson Royal has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is on the move to Tottenham with his social media activity.
It has been reported throughout deadline day that the Brazilian right-back is close to joining Spurs from the Catalan giants.
Reports have suggested that he is set to become the club’s latest summer signing for a fee of £30m (£26.7m) and will commit to a five-year contract in north London.
No hiccups are expected, with Spurs obviously keen to get the deal done before Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline, and the player himself might well have suggested that the deal is more or less completed.
As spotted on social media, the 22-year-old began following Spurs on his official Instagram account.
He is also following potential future teammate Giovani Lo Celso, although the two already know each other having both represented Spanish outfit Real Betis during the 2018/19 season.
It now only appears a matter of time then for Emerson to officially become a Spurs player, having apparently completed a medical and signed his contract on deadline day.
He would become Spurs’ fifth signing of the summer and would be the club’s most expensive arrival of the window, with Bryan Gil’s signature having cost Fabio Paratici a reported £22.5m - albeit with Erik Lamela moving to Spain in exchange.
Meanwhile, both Pierluigi Gollini and Cristian Romero have arrived on initial loan deals from Serie A outfit Atalanta, agreements that could be made permanent next summer.
