Chelsea full-back Emerson has given an update on his future amid speculation that he may follow Maurizio Sarri to Juventus.
Sarri looks to be heading out of the door at Stamford Bridge in order to take up the vacant managerial role with the Italian giants, and there has been reports that Emerson will follow the same path as his manager.
Reports from Calciomercato , claim that Juve have made initial contact with the Blues over the left-back, but concerns over a lack of cover in the full-back area, especially with the transfer ban hanging over them, have led to Chelsea walking away from talks at the first stage.
The 24-year-old has struggled with injury since signing for the Blues in January 2018, making 34 appearances in all competitions over the 18-month period.
Calciomercato claim that while the player, would be interested in a move to Juventus, he doesn't wish to damage his positive relationship with Chelsea and will therefore not push for a move to Turin. Emerson's most recent comments on his future seem to back up that claim.
“I have a contract with Chelsea and I am happy there, especially after the Europa League [victory],”he told reporters after Italy's 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday, as reported by footballItalia . “At this time I haven’t received any offers. Everyone is saying [Allianz Stadium could be my new home] however I am very relaxed.
“I will continue to work hard and not focus on these things.”
The full back was also asked about Sarri's potential return to Italy, but was not forthcoming in revealing any information that he may have.
“Ask Chelsea or Juve,” he replied when asked about the situation.
