Chelsea are back on European turf after their Japanese adventure and Frank Lampard has given his players a few days off before their next pre-season match.
With the temperatures soaring in the UK, it was probably good timing from Lampard to let his players cool down a bit after an intense time in the Far East.
The Blues have three pre-season matches left before they take on Manchester United in the opening Premier League game of the season, and for Chelsea their next challenge is away at Reading.
Lampard's side are at the Madejski Stadium before travelling to take on RB Salzburg and then Borussia Monchengladbach the week before the league campaign starts.
Chelsea had an encouraging win against Barcelona in the Saitama Stadium, with the result matching an encouraging performance with high intensity, good pressing and a couple of decent finishes.
Lampard will be looking to maintain that momentum which is why he could play a stronger side in the game as he continues to build his style of football.
The head coach will likely go for a 4-2-3-1, with Michy Batshuayi leading the line and Mason Mount just behind him.
Billy Gilmour really impressed over the course of the Ireland part of pre-season, however with the young Scot playing for Chelsea's U23s against Sutton United on Saturday afternoon, it is unlikely he will feature against the Royals.
