Emerson gives hint on return from injury ahead of Chelsea's clash against Watford

Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri has given a hint on social media that he could be set for a return to fitness ahead of tomorrow's Premier League clash with Watford.

The Blues travel to Vicarage Road looking to extend their winning league run to five matches, while Watford are the only remaining team in the league yet to record a win this season.

Emerson has missed the past four league matches due to a hamstring injury, after leaving the pitch in the first half of the match against Liverpool in September.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Frank Lampard gave an injury update on his squad, confirming that Antonio Rudiger and N'Golo Kante will miss the clash with Watford through injury.

However, there was no specific mention on the condition of Emerson, who has been back in training with the squad.

"Ross Barkley is still not quite right. He is another one that is unfortunately a possibly. He's not far away. Andreas Christensen is pretty much fit as well," he said.

"It's sort of the finishing touches for a few of them from the difference between being fit and match fit. I'm quite big on how we train in the middle period so the players can come back in at the level that we need to play games.

"They can't come straight back in after injuries, we have a little bit of a progression."

Ahead of the trip, Emerson himself has taken to social media to send a message to Chelsea fans.

Posting a picture of himself in training, the caption read: "Ready for tomorrow!"

If Lampard thinks the same is still to be seen.
