Improvement and development will be the main goals as the Emerging Jets restart their National Premier League NSW Women's campaign on home turf on Sunday.
Emerging Jets coach Ash Wilson expects a challenging first hit-out against Sydney Olympic at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility at Speers Point.
"Last year they finished top four or five and they're going to be tough," Wilson said.
"There's not too many teams in that Sydney league that aren't. Most teams you'll play will have a few W-League players out there.
"What we did in first grade last year was we won and drew more games than we've ever won or drew in the past. So every year we're building on what we've done in the past and every year those girls are gaining more experience.
"For us it's about performing consistently and trying to go as far as we can and be competitive in the league."
The Emerging Jets will be led by W-League Jets young guns Paige Kingston-Hogg, Renee Pountney and Tessa Tamplin.
Jets Tara Andrews, Cassidy Davis, Libby Copus-Brown and Nicole Simonsen are playing for Manly. Gema Simon, Lauren Allan and Claire Coelho are in the Northern Tigers squad.
Pana Petratos plays for Bankstown and Clare Wheeler, Teigan Collister, Nicki Flannery and Annabel Martin for Sydney University.
The Emerging Jets play Sydney Olympic at 3pm on Sunday.
