Emergency work on busy Nottingham road continues as completion date pushed back

Emergency work continues on a busy road in Nottingham after a gas leak - despite the programme having been expected to finish last week.

Colwick Road, between Sneinton and Colwick, off the A612 Colwick Road, remains been shut.

Work was expected to come to an end on Friday, December 3.

But engineers said there was still work to do.

And it's unclear when the project will be completed.

A Cadent spokesperson said: “We are currently carrying out emergency works on Colwick Road. We understand that these works are causing disruption, however they are vital to ensure the safe supply of gas to homes and businesses in the area.

“We would like to thank everyone for their patience."

Nottingham City Transport buses have been diverting as a result of the roadworks.
