Warning downgraded for fire north of Perth

An emergency warning has been issued for an out-of-control bushfire north of Perth. (AAP)

Authorities have downgraded a warning for a bushfire burning north of Perth, saying the blaze is now under control.

An emergency warning was on Monday morning issued for the fire affecting parts of Cowalla, Moore River National Park, Wanerie, Beermullah and Orange Springs.

That has now been lowered to Watch and Act.

"The alert level for this fire has been downgraded as fire conditions have eased due to recent rain in the area," Emergency WA said.

"There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is approaching in the area and conditions are changing."

Those planning to leave should do so now, Emergency WA said.

"If you are well prepared and plan to actively defend your home, make final preparations now," it said.
