Emergency teams called to Antrim Coast in search of man

Rescue teams have been deployed to the Antrim Coast in search of a man.

The man is believed to have fallen in the Six Mile Water river in Antrim late last night and as of this morning the search is still ongoing.

Coastguards were called out to Antrim Forum on Sunday night, August 23 for a search and rescue operation which saw police and fire services attend to the scene.

Coastguards arrived on the scene at around 11pm.

A spokesperson for the HM Coastguard said: "At 22.57 last night (23th August), Antrim IRB, Kinnego IRB, Arboe IRB, Kinnego Coastguard Rescue Team, the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Prestwick.

" Police Service Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were tasked to an incident at Antrim Forum."

"A multi-agency search operation has resumed this morning as police and partners search for a man who entered the Six Mile Water river in Antrim last night, Sunday 23 August.

"The police helicopter was deployed as part of the search effort."
