Emergency services tape off Scots street following early morning 'disturbance'

Police are in attendance at a 'disturbance' on a Scots street after being alerted to an incident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services rushed to Regent Street, Greenock, shortly after 4am and erected a police cordon in the area.

Images from the scene show two officers and a firefighter standing next to police tape and an emergency vehicle in the Well Park area of Regent Street.

Officers are currently at the scene but it is understood the road has reopened following the 'disturbance'.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.10am on Saturday, 28 January, 2023 police were called to a disturbance on Regent Street, Greenock.

"Officers are at the scene."

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were in attendance at the incident.
