Emergency services tackle train fire at Nottingham Railway Station

Firefighters dealt with a train fire on Monday evening (October 7) at Nottingham Railway Station.

Two engines from the London Road Fire Station were called to the scene at 9.47pm.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted to say the fire involved the "engine of a train traction unit".

The tweet added: "The fire was extinguished by the on-board suppression system & the train then continued to the maintenance depot in Derby."

A picture has shown a number of firefighters responding to the incident on the platform.
