Emergency services swoop on River Clyde in Glasgow amid reports of 'man in water'

Emergency services have swooped on the River Clyde in Glasgow after a man entered the water.

Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue raced to the Broomielaw just after 6pm amid reports of someone in the river.

The man has since been recovered from the water and has been taken to hospital as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers were called to the River Clyde at around 6.10pm to reports of a man in the water.

"The man is out of the water now and has been taken to hospital as a precaution."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson confirmed they were in attendance.
