Emergency services search water in Falkirk during major response

Emergency services were conducting searches in the water in Falkirk last night.

Rescue teams were spotted on boats searching the Allandale area around 9pm on Wednesday evening.

Photos from the scene show fire crews scouring the area in a boat equipped with emergency gear.

Four emergency workers can be seen in one boat wearing lifejackets, helmets, Hi-Vis and face masks.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were in attendance at a rescue search but were unable to provide further information.

The circumstances surrounding the operation are not yet known.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
