Turtle Bay in Cheltenham Road evacuated as people 'unwell in toilets'

A Bristol restaurant and bar had to be evacuated late last night, when people started feeling unwell when using its toilets.

Emergency services were rushed to Turtle Bay, in Cheltenham Road, after several people started feeling ill.

Police, paramedics and fire crews all attended the incident, which happened at around 10.45pm on July 19.

Footage from the scene shows a police cordon set up around the eatery, with a crowd of people gathered outside.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to reports of people feeling unwell at a restaurant in Cheltenham Road at about 10.45pm last night.

"People were evacuated after a handful of people, who had visited the toilets, reported feeling unwell.

"Ambulance and fire also attended.

"There were no injuries or hazardous substances."

A spokeswoman for the restaurant said she was unable to comment at this time.
