Emergency services rushed to crash in narrow lane

A man has been cut free from a van which was left on its side following a crash in Whitchurch.

Crews from Temple and Bedminster fire stations were called to Maggs Way this morning (April 24) after receiving reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle.

After arriving at around 6.50am, firefighters used a cutting tool to free a male casualty from the vehicle.

Pictures taken at the scene show the van on its side as fire crews cut through the windscreen.

The van was left on its side (Avon Fire and Rescue)

The injured man was taken to hospital by ambulance after being freed from the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Temple and Bedminster fire stations were called to a one-vehicle road traffic collision involving a van on its side.

"On arrival, firefighters used a windscreen cutting tool to free the male casualty. 

"He was conveyed to hospital by ambulance."
