Emergency services rush to the scene of three car smash

A road in Farnworth has been partially blocked off after a crash.

Police said that three cars are believed to have been involved in the smash and photographs from Highfield Road show damage to a black Kia Sportage and a white Mini Cooper.

The crash happened close to St Catherine's Church at around 1.30pm.

Highfield Road has been blocked by the cars and debris is also scattered across the road.

A woman who lives in nearby Avondale Road said: "I was just sat in the back garden at the time and I heard a huge bang and then a car horn has been sounding ever since."
