Emergency services rush to scene of Christmas Eve stabbing in Monaghan town

Gardai have attended the scene of a Christmas Eve stabbing.

A man, in his 40s, was rushed to hospital after the altercation which happened at around 6.30pm in Monaghan town.

Paramedics also arrived at the scene on Dublin Street this Tuesday evening.

The victim has been taken to Cavan General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A garda spokeswoman told the Irish Mirror: "There has been a stabbing incident on Dublin Street, Monaghan.

"Gardaí were alerted at 6.30pm this evening Tuesday 24 December, 2019. 

"One man (late 40s) received a stab wound and was taken to Cavan General Hospital for treatment.  His injuries are non-life threatening."
