Man seriously injured after shooting in west Dublin

A man has been seriously injured after being shot in west Dublin this evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30PM on Saturday afternoon in Castlecurragh Heath, Mulhuddart, west Dublin.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and provided treatment for the injured man.

The victim, whose age is not yet known, is believed to have been blasted twice in the stomach in the incident.

The man is described as being in a 'serious condition' and has been rushed to Connolly Hospital.

A spokeswoman for An Garda Siochana confirmed the incident occurred at around 5:30Pm this evening.

A car has also been found burnt out in the nearby Huntstown.

She said: "Gardaí are at scene of shooting incident which occurred in Mulhuddart, Dublin 15, this evening Saturday 29th June, 2019 at approximately 5:30pm.



"A man (age unknown) has been removed to hospital (unknown which hospital) in a serious condition. 

"Investigations are ongoing."
