Emergency services rush to scene after person hit by car outside a pub

A person was taken to hospital after being hit by a car near a pub in Fallowfield.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Wilmslow Road at around 9.50pm last night (Wednesday). Police and paramedics were pictured blocking the busy road near the Friendship Inn pub.

Blood and debris could be seen on the road, which was cordoned off for a short time. Police said a pedestrian was taken to hospital from the scene after being hit by a car.

Their injuries were not life-threatening. The age and gender of the person has not been revealed.

In a statement issued this morning (Thursday), a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car on Wilmslow Road in Fallowfield at 9.50pm on Wednesday 9 November 2022. NWAS attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time."

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "A man was taken to hospital with a head injury. We received a 999 call at 20.45 to reports of an RTC involving a pedestrian."
