Emergency services rush to scene after person gets impaled on railing in South Dublin

A person was rushed to hospital after finding themselves impaled on a railing in South Dublin.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Tallaght where the patient had to wait agonisingly to be cut out.

Firefighters removed the railing with high powered tools before medics rushed them to hospital with the bar still attached.

The Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Earlier this week Firefighter/Paramedics were called to a person impaled on a railing in Tallaght.

"Battery-powered cutting gear was used to cut a section of the railing to allow transport to hospital.

"The same equipment was used later in the ED to remove more of the railing."
