Emergency services rush to major southside road after pedestrian struck by vehicle

Emergency services are in attendance at a southside road after reports of a pedestrians being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred at about 5pm this evening on Aikenhead Road near the Oatlands area.

Police Scotland and ambulances rushed to the scene and remain in attendance. The condition of the pedestrian is currently unknown.

The road is closed to all vehicles following the incident.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 5pm on Thursday, 31st October 2019 following reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle on Aikenhead Road, Glasgow.

"Emergency services remain at the scene and the road remains closed at this time."
