Emergency services have rushed to M77 following reports that a vehicle is on fire.
The incident is still ongoing, with police and fire crews at the scene. The road is closed in both directions to all traffic near junction 7-8.
One eyewitness told Glasgow Live: "There's been a crash on the M77 between Galston and Whitelee Windfarm.
"There is a fire blocking the motorway and fire crews have just arrived."
A spokeswoman from Fire and Rescue Services confirmed fire crews were in attendance.
Traffic Scotland have recommended drivers avoid the area and use alternatives routes following the collision.
They tweeted: " #M77 is closed in both directions Vehicle fire N/B near J7 on the hard shoulder. Emergency services are on scene #UseAltRoute #PlanAhead @ScotTranserv @polscotcontrol @BBCTravelScot"
