A person has been struck by a train in Inverclyde forcing many journeys to be delayed or cancelled in the area.

Emergency services rushed to the incident between Port Glasgow and Gourock at around 9.20pm this evening.

ScotRail has been working closely with British Transport Police while officers remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Sadly, someone has been struck by a train between Port Glasgow and Gourock. Services between Glasgow Central and Gourock will be cancelled, delayed or terminated.”

Alternative transport arrangements are being made while the disruption remains ongoing.
