Emergency services rush to incident on Scots rail line as trains disrupted

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of an ongoing incident on the railway line in East Lothian.

Scotrail services between Prestonpans and Longniddry have been disrupted and trains between North Berwick and Edinburgh have been cancelled as a result.

The 6.55am service has been affected and passengers are urged to check in advance for updates on the situation.

Rail tickets are being accepted on local Lothian bus routes and Scotrail have requested a bus replacement for the route.

In a tweet Scotrail said: “We have one confirmed 16 bus in place at North Berwick for 0646 to run to Edinburgh. We continue to try and source more buses and will update in due course.”

The Daily Record has contacted British Transport Police for further information.
