Emergency services rush to help young girl who was struck by a car

Emergency services were called to High Blantyre Road this morning following reports of a girl being struck by a car.

Police were called to the incident at around 8.13am.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were called at 8.13am this morning to High Blantyre Road to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian, an 11-year-old female. The pedestrian was treated for minor facial injuries at the scene.

“Investigations are still ongoing.”

Traffic was backed up along the route while emergency services responded to the incident.
