Emergency services rushed to Edinburgh Haymarket this morning after a person fell ill on a ScotRail train.

The rail operator confirmed news of the incident shortly before 10am.

Medics arrived on the scene a short time later and the person was given treatment at the scene before being removed from the train. Their condition is currently unknown.

ScotRail said that services running through Haymarket could be delayed or revised for the time being, but things should return to normal shortly.

According to their website minor disruption was being experienced on Lothians and the Borders services, the East Coast and Fife and the Cental Belt.
