Emergency services rush to Glasgow's High Street as road shut amid ongoing incident

A Glasgow city centre street and train station has been closed off as police deal with an ongoing incident.

High Street Station and the surrounding area have been cordoned off as officers attend.

Images show a heavy police and ambulance currently at the scene.

Glasgow City Council's traffic control team has confirmed that the road is closed between George St/Duke St and Ingram Street.

A statement from the team reads: "High Street is closed between George St/ Duke St and Ingram Street. This is due to an ongoing Police incident."

Police diversions are in place for drivers.

ScotRail has also confirmed that High Street station is closed, with all services bypassing the stop.

The rail service said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident at High Street station. The station’s currently closed and all services are having to bypass the station. We’re working closely with the emergency services during this time and we’ll keep you updated."
