Emergency services rush to Colinton after two cars crash in head on collision

Emergency services rushed to Colinton last night after two cars collided just off of the main road.

Police and fire crews were called to the scene on Thorburn Road at around 5.15pm on Wednesday (December 23).

The junction was closed off to the public as officers dealt with the crash after two cars had collided on the road.

Pictures taken at the scene show an ambulance and at least two fire engines present, as emergency crews assessed the area.

A few hours later the scene was able to be cleared, with police reporting no injuries from the incident.

However, officers also reported that one driver was issued with a fixed penalty notice in relation to a road traffic offence.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.15pm on Wednesday, 23 December, officers received a report of a crash involving two cars on Thorburn Road, Edinburgh.

“There were no reported injuries.

“One driver was issued with a fixed penalty ticket in relation to a road traffic offence."
