Emergency services rush to Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh after reports of someone falling

Emergency services have rushed to an Edinburgh beauty spot after reports of someone falling.

Eye witnesses described seeing someone fall from Salisbury Crags at Arthur’s Seat.

Police were called to the scene at 12.20pm however details of any injuries are not yet known.

The public have been asked to avoid the area while emergency services respond to the situation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers can confirm that a 41-year-old man has died following a report of a concern for a person at the Salisbury Cragg's around 12.20pm on Saturday, 17 July.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
