Emergency services rush to Aberdeenshire as cyclist seriously injured in crash

A cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a lorry this afternoon.

The accident happened in the centre of Banff, Aberdeenshire at about 2.20pm.

All three emergency services were in attendance at the scene of the incident outside Wilson Defence Solicitors, in the town’s Low Street.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said the cyclist was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with “very serious” head injuries but their condition was unknown.

And she explained that officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances of what happened.
