Emergency services rush to Aberdeen's Victoria Road after child hit by car on busy street

A young boy has been hit by a car in Aberdeen.

Victoria Road, in the Torry area of the city, has been closed off  between Abbey Place and Mansfield Road with police and ambulance crews racing to the scene this morning.

A 11-year-old boy has been hit by a car.

It is understood that his injuries are not serious.

A police spokeswoman said: ""Officers attended at Victoria Road in Aberdeen at 7.50am following a crash involving a 11-year-old male pedestrian and a car. 

"The boy has been taken to hospital for treatment and the road is re-opened."
