Emergency services raced to a popular Ayr pub after fears of a gas leak.
The alarm was raised at around 1.30pm on Sunday when the smell was reported within Rabbie's Bar in Burns Statue Square.
A police spokesman said: “Police were called to assist the Fire Service in a hazardous material incident.
“Some disruption to traffic was caused as a result of appliances in the roadway.
“No trace of any harmful material was found.”
