Emergency services respond to reports of tumble dryer fire in West Bridgford

Fire, police and ambulance services attended a fire at a house in West Bridgford.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service received a report that a tumble dryer was on fire at Moore Close, off Adbolton Lane.

The alarm was raised at about 5.15pm on Thursday, September 5.

A spokesman for the fire service said the report was treated as a "high priority" because the resident of the house is disabled. He was advised to separate himself from the room containing the fire while awaiting the arrival of emergency services.

The spokesman said: "Three engines were deployed with police and ambulance services also attending.

"The fire was out on arrival at the scene. The gentleman was reported OK and there was minimal damage to the property.

"One appliance remained at the scene to ensure the house was made safe."
