Emergency services respond to crash on Nitshill Road

Emergency services were called to the scene of a crash on Nitshill Road this evening, which has led to the closure of a lane and subsequent traffic delays.

The collision, involving two vehicles, took place to the junction of Nitshill Road and Seamill Street, in the south of the city.

The vehicles are now being recovered from the scene and it is not yet known if anyone has been injured as a result of the crash.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to Glasgow Live they were earlier called to the incident.

Meanwhile, Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) have advised one lane remains closed following the collision.

They say: "Due to an RTC Nitshill Road is reduced to one nearside lane westbound at Seamill Street.

"Drivers are advised to use caution on approach.

"Damaged vehicles are awaiting recovery."

UPDATE: A Police Scotland spokesperson has subsequently confirmed: "We were called at 17.45 to reports of a two vehicle crash.

"Nitshill Road was closed at Peat Road.

"The cars involved were an Audi and an Mazda.

"An ambulance was called to attend - it looks like it's minor injuries."

TRAFFCOM have subsequently confirmed both lanes are now open.
